I have so much to share on this topic that I’m not even sure how to kick this off.
I will get into more on this and my perspective in future posts, but for now, just know my story began with a simple question…
Why do the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer?
Now, for anyone reading this, I’d have to imagine the question you’re asking yourself is, how does this have anything to do with betrayal?
The answer is everything.
My family came from generational wealth, but “inexplicably” squandered it all.
So, little did I know this same question would help me reveal a lot more than I had ever imagined.
That’s how my journey started.
Make no mistake about it. It was a painful one, but this is the beauty on the other side of the struggle.
I have always loved humans and hearts.
And, I learned to fall in love with investing too.
Thanks to the Big Man upstairs, and my desire to love on those who want the help, he showed me how to combine the two. I’ve had a lot of success with investments, but the ones I cherish most have always been an investment in people. Now, I get to serve others for the rest of my life.
I know this is supposed to be an article on betrayal, so I’ll save you a novel and share the answer I came up with after posing that question 15+ years ago…
The reason the rich get richer and the poor get poorer
The reason the rich get richer and the poor get poorer is simple…
Habits and behaviors, along with a mindset that supports those habits and behaviors, passed down via knowledge (considering time and place), one generation at a time.
The irony?
Overcoming betrayal IS an investment
It’s the best investment you can make, the one in yourself.
When we are betrayed, our entire world shatters.
So, you have to learn to control your emotions and work through tough feelings and hard truths, the same way any admirable investor would.
Betrayal requires that same kind of mindset in order to overcome the trauma, and restore trust in Self, trust in others, and trust in our worldview.
This permits us to not only overcome betrayal, but also take back our power, and now know how to wield it too.
And, that’s my goal.
Empowering yourself after betrayal
I don’t just want to help someone overcome betrayal. My goal is to empower them, to unleash them. Old me surrounded myself with people who enjoyed holding others back. New me only surrounds myself with people who enjoy empowering others the same way I do.
Start fresh, not over
What I discovered is that when our world shatters, as painful as it is, it’s the most beautiful opportunity to start fresh. Notice, I didn’t say “start over”. I guarantee you have a deeper well to draw from than you realize. You get to keep that knowledge. The difference is, now, you get to build on it. Welcome to the New You!
No Ceilings
No Ceilings is about working through any limiting beliefs. If your goal is to overcome betrayal, I’ve got your back. If your goal is to reach your potential and turn it into a superpower, I am so down. You’re a force of nature, but it will take time and effort, and maybe most importantly, you have to start somewhere. What better time than now?
Keep going. You’re worth it. 💪❤️
